Modifikasi polivinil alkohol/alginat/glutaraldehid terimpregnasi karbon aktif kulit pisang menggunakan caco3 menjadi cryogel sebagai adsorben ion Cu (II)
Research has been carried out on the modification and characterization of Polyvinyl Alcohol/Alginate/Glutaraldehyde (PVA/Alg/GA) impregnated with activated carbon using CaCO3 into cryogel as a Cu(II) metal ion adsorbent. This research aims to determine the morphology of PVA/Alg/GA cryogel containing activated carbon, the effect of pH on the absorption of Cu(II) metal ions and the effect of H2SO4 concentration on the desorption process of Cu(II) metal ions. SEM characterization results show that the pores of 15 g CaCO3 5 hours are larger with a diameter of 6.172 μm than the pores of 10 g CaCO3 5 hours and 20 g CaCO3 5 hours. The cryogel adsorption results show that the optimum pH for the absorption of Cu(II) metal ions is at pH 6 with 109% of Cu(II) metal ions absorbed and an adsorption capacity of 0.0630 mmol/g. The highest cryogel desorption results occurred at a concentration of 1 M H2SO4 with a recovery capacity of 87.15%.
